It rained all night it seemed and was still drizzling as we
left Nelson at 7 am. Not far down the road though, and it set in again for the
rest of the trip.
We seemed to have avoided the worst of the weather as it
snowed very heavily around the South Island in many of the places we had
visited.
And Greymouth had floods in places so we managed to avoid
that too.
The ferry crossing was a bit on the rough side however and I
was feeling very unwell for a while. Luckily we made it into calmer water just
in time.
So we are back on our island. Staying in Levin and making a
leisurely way towards Taupo tomorrow. There might be snow on the desert road so
will be checking road conditions in the morning.
