Christmas Eve

And its raining. Kind of matches my mood just now.

I haven't ridden any of our horses for over a week now........................... maybe thats whats wrong with me. My back is sore and my stupid ankle is giving me lots of grief the past 2 days. Times like this I start to think I should have had the operation on it

I know the rain is very much needed but today is very grey and gloomy. If it wasn't Christmas Eve I might even consider going to town but I won't break the habit of a lifetime.
We will spend some time with family tomorrow as we always do.

That kind of makes me think about New Year Resolutions. 2009 has to be a year for change surely? This past year has not been a great one for many people and I can only hope things improve for them. I think our life is a pretty good one. We don't have much in terms of possessions but I have always felt quite well off compared to many others. Out life here is a good one (long may it continue) but I am starting to think more about the future and what I would like to do in the next few years.

Anyway the ride on the 28th is coming up fast. I made up a few signs yesterday and ran them through the laminator just in case of rain. I suddenly remembered last night that I may need to have some change. Little tip for the future, make it a nice round amount! $20 instead of $15 I think to make it easier for all.
And to plan for numbers maybe a registration system instead of the "just turning up". Because of the time of the year I didn't think there would be too much interest but I could be wrong. There has been a few ph calls and e mails from people telling me they are going to be here and those numbers alone are adding up to more than I suspected for the whole ride.

Merry Christmas to you all! And to steal a few words from an e mail doing the rounds just now,

My Wish for You in 2009

May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts.May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills.

May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips!
May your clothes smell of success like smoking tyres and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy.

May the problems you had forget your home address! In simple words ............
May 2009 be the best year of your life!!!
